Technological developments in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) have triggered a massive, profound and fundamental transformation across almost every aspect of human life, including the academic and research ecosystem of the social sciences. The transition towards a fully connected digital society requires the social sciences to recalibrate their conventional methodologies, epistemological approaches and theoretical relevance. In response to this global urgency, the International Online Conference on Artificial Intelligence for Social Sciences (AI-SOC) 2026 has been launched as a platform for critical interdisciplinary dialogue, centred on the theme ‘Reimagining Social Sciences in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Research, Society, and Human Futures’. This conference is organised by the DAS Institute Indonesia to bridge the gap between rapidly advancing technological innovation and sociological, ethical and regulatory understanding, which often lags behind.
